Bournemouth v Brighton & Hove Albion Betting Tips & Preview – Friday 15th September 2017

Bournemouth and Eddie Howe have lost all four of their Premier League matches so far this season. This Friday night, the Cherries will be looking for their first league win when they welcome Chris Hughton’s newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion to the Vitality Stadium. It’s been a poor start for Howe’s boys, who have scored just one goal in four PL games.

Brighton will be full of confidence having secured their first ever Premier League win at the weekend, beating West Bromwich Albion 3-1 at the Amex Stadium. Can Hughton’s men back that up with another victory on Friday?

Top Tips

  • Bournemouth to Win - 6/5 at BetVictor
  • Bournemouth to Win and Both Teams to Score - 18/5 at Betfred

Analysis

Bournemouth have found life tough in the Premier League so far. The Cherries have struggled to get going, losing to West Brom, Watford and Manchester City before the international break. Last Saturday, Bournemouth were then on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline against out-of-sorts Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Howe’s team can’t afford to lose again on Friday, especially as they are back on home soil.

Brighton kicked off their campaign with back-to-back 2-0 defeats to Man City and Leicester City respectively. However, they did manage a solid 0-0 draw at Watford before the international break. Last weekend, Hughton’s boys secured their first ever Premier League victory, as they eased past the Baggies at the Amex Stadium, with Pascal Gross (2) and Tomer Hemed getting the goals.

These two last met in a Sky Bet Championship fixture back in April 2015, which Bournemouth won 2-0 away from home. In the reverse fixture a few months earlier, the Cherries beat the Seagulls 3-2 at Dean Court. Brighton’s last victory in this fixture came way back in January 2008 in a League One matchup.

Bournemouth, who have had two remarkable seasons in the top flight, should have enough in them to claim their first league victory of the campaign on Friday. BetVictor are offering 6/5 for the hosts to win. We also like the look of Betfred’s 18/5 for the home win and both teams to score.

Recent Head to Head Record

  • Brighton & Hove Albion 0-2 Bournemouth, April 2015
  • Bournemouth 3-2 Brighton & Hove Albion, November 2014
  • Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Bournemouth, January 2014
  • Bournemouth 1-1 Brighton & Hove Albion, November 2013

Other Bets

Despite having a superb campaign in front of goal last year, Josh King has yet to find the net for the Cherries this term. The Norway international – who scored for his country during the international break – will be looking to find the net in the Premier League sooner rather than later this time around.

King netted 16 times in the league for Bournemouth last term, and we’re backing him to get up and running on Friday. The No. 17 is available at 19/4 (BetVictor) to open the scoring in this one.
