PFA Scotland Player of the Year

The Professional Footballers Association of Scotland (PFA Scotland) is an organisation that represents footballers in Scotland and was formerly known as the Scottish Professional Footballers Association (SPFA).

Every season, members of the PFA Scotland are given the chance to vote for their player of the year, with the player gaining the most votes given the award.

The first PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year was during the 1977/78 season and was given to Rangers striker Derek Johnstone. Although the Old Firm of Celtic and Rangers have dominated this award, players for Aberdeen, Aidrie, Dundee United, Morton and Motherwell have also won the accolade.
